Introducing the 50% game time recommendation for Secondary School Netball - including LNISSs

Netball New Zealand has today shared a new player-centred initiative aimed at supporting youth development in our game. Launching in 2026 onwards, the 50% game time recommendation ensures every secondary school netball player receives meaningful time on court. NNZ used insights from the Voice of Participant and Sport NZ Rangatahi Voice surveys; this recommendation aligns with the Balance is Better philosophy and encourages fair, inclusive participation for all rangatahi aged 12–18. Registration Process
The registration process for teams. players and team contacts will be online using Sporty.co.nz. Click here to access the link for team registrations.

Your school will require login details to Sporty to complete the team entry and player registration.  

If you are unsure of your login details please contact support@sportsground.co.nz requesting access.

Proposed Key Dates
These are subject to moving depending on how we are tracking as volunteers to get the online registrations set up in Sporty.

Friday 19 June 2026 - Team Registration link sent out to pre-registered team contacts.
Monday 10 July 2026 - Registrations close.
Friday 17 July 2026 - Payment due to confirm registration.
Friday 7 August 2026 - 50% refund if a team withdraws before this date.
Thursday 13 August 2026 - Coaches/Managers meetings online.
Sunday 30 August 2026 - Tournament begins for the LNISS Tournament.
