Congratulations to the management committee and the many volunteers for the successful 2026 tournament. We had an additional six teams join us this year, and the challenge with the draw was worth every stressful moment. The compliments we received from these teams for allowing them to be part of this wonderful event will be treasured by the committee for some time. Some of the words passed on were: the girls now feel they are just as good as some of these other teams; the girls started to believe in themselves; our cups are full; we will be back.
We know we have some work to do over the next few months around how we can do the draw a little differently, and this will be our priority as a management committee. We will look at how SISSs and UNISSs do their draw, so that we can minimise byes where we can. We still want to include everyone, so a bye might still be in the draw, but we will do our best to minimise the impact on teams where we can.
Thank you to everyone for all of the planning, preparation, and mahi that was completed over tournament week. We appreciate you all and look forward to you all returning again in 2026.
